Burlington Eastern Mountain Sports Store To Celebrate Grand Opening
EMS announced the new location last month and recently opened its doors at its store off Middlesex Turnpike.
BURLINGTON, MA — Area residents have a new shopping opportunity in the form of a newly opened Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) store near the Burlington Mall in Burlington.
The EMS location sits at 90 Middlesex Turnpike. EMS announced the new location late last month and opened its doors to the public in recent weeks.
EMS Burlington is now planning a grand opening celebration this weekend to run from Friday through Sunday, according to a message on the local store’s Facebook page.

EMS is an outdoor clothing and equipment chain. Its Burlington facility expands its presence deeper into Eastern Massachusetts, with other area locations in places such as Nashua, N.H, Marlborough and Wrentham, as noted on the EMS website.
EMS has gone through various rough patches in its business over the years, with a number of stores closing when its parent company filed for bankruptcy in 2017.

The U.K.-based Sports Direct took over EMS months later, also in 2017, before GoDigital Media Group eventually bought the chain earlier this year.
