Burlington Hires New Animal Control Officer
Jamie Jeffrey previously served as animal control officer in Cambridge.

BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington Police Department has hired a new animal control officer. Jamie Jeffrey has been animal control officer in Cambridge since 2019.
In that role, she responded to animal-related calls, issued quarantines, monitored the community for dangerous wild animals such as coyotes, and participated in numerous community outreach events among other duties.
Jeffrey also worked from 2004 to 2019 as the manager of the Woburn Animal Hospital and Ledgebrook Kennel in Woburn.

"Animal Control Officer Jeffrey is an experienced animal control officer who will serve our community well," Chief Thomas Browne said in a statement. "I hope residents join me in welcoming her to Burlington."
She is a 2019 graduate of the Animal Control Certification Academy for Massachusetts and holds numerous professional certifications.

"I look forward to the upcoming weeks getting to know and work with the Burlington community. I am honored to be part of the Burlington Police Department and I am eager to begin my work as the newly appointed Animal Control Officer and Animal Inspector," Jeffrey said in a statement. "You will see that I take passion in my work, and professionalism. My empathy for domestic animals and wildlife along with public safety is top priority."
