BURLINGTON, MA — The Town of Burlington launched a survey on Monday to help officials improve how the Town shares information with residents and business owners.

The survey is available online until noon on May 10 and will take about five to 10 minutes to complete, according to officials. Participation in the survey is voluntary and responses are anonymous.

"The Town wants to share information with the community on a range of topics — trash pickup schedule changes, grant opportunities, events at the library, programs at the senior center, youth and family services resources and Town Meeting updates, to name a few. We want to know the best way to get this information to the folks who need it," said Town Administrator Paul Sagarino.

In addition to asking for some demographic information, the survey asks respondents how they receive information on a daily basis, what kind of information they would like to receive from the Town and where they would like to receive that information. There also are questions about the Town of Burlington website and how respondents would like to communicate with the Town of Burlington.

Town officials said the survey is part of an effort to create a comprehensive communications plan for Burlington.

"We want our residents and businesses to be aware of important information from the Town government, but we also want to improve ways for our residents and businesses to interact with the Town," said Select Board Chair Nick Priest. "The information we learn from this survey will get us moving in that direction."
