Burlington Police Department Welcomes New Officer
Previously, the new officer was a trooper in New Jersey.

BURLINGTON — The Burlington Police Department has welcomed Officer James Dawson as the department's newest member.
Officer Dawson was officially sworn in during a ceremony held Monday.
Dawson previously served as an infantry platoon leader in the New Jersey National Guard before becoming a New Jersey State Trooper, a role he held for more than three years, according to a police statement.

He completed and participated in a variety of specialized training with New Jersey State Police, including Critical Incident Response, Effective Patrol Techniques, Advanced Roadside Investigations, Active By Standership For Lay Enforcement, Bleeding Control, and Integrated Communications, Assessment, and Tactics.
Dawson is originally from Byram Township, New Jersey, and graduated from Salve Regina University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2017.

“I want to welcome Officer Dawson to the department. He comes to us with years of experience and training and I know he will be a great fit here in our department,” Chief Thomas Browne said in a statement. “Our department is committed to continuously learning, growing, and keeping our community safe, and I wish Officer Dawson the best of luck in this next chapter of his career here in Burlington.”
