Burlington Schools Closed On Thursday
Trash pickup is also delayed on Thursday, according to the Department of Public Works.

BURLINGTON, MA -- Burlington Public Schools are closed all day Thursday. Meanwhile, the town's Department of Public Works is asking residents to not bring trash barrels out until after 7 am Thursday. The department also said trash pickup will be delayed by one hour as crews work to clear snow from a storm that dumped heavy, wet snow on the town.
The town does not typically declare snow emergencies, as it bans on-street parking between the hours of midnight and 6 am between November 1 and April 1 and at any time when snow or icy conditions are present to make sure it can clear snow from roadways. Vehicles that violate the winter parking ban will be ticketed and towed by the Police Department at the owner's expense.
Burlington begins plowing when snow reaches a depth of 2-3 inches. More information, including an online form to report damage caused by plows to private property, is located onthe town's Website. Sand is available for Residents of Burlington at the Highway Division yard. If you have any questions, please call the Highway Division at (781) 270-1676/1677.
