Burlington Students Have Until April 3 To Submit TOBSF Applications

The Town of Burlington Scholarship Fund (TOBSF) awards college grants to seniors at BHS, private schools and technical schools.

BURLINGTON, MA — The Burlington Select Board is reminding local high school seniors that April 3 is the deadline to submit applications for college scholarships from the The Town of Burlington Scholarship Fund (TOBSF).

The applications can be obtained in the Burlington High School Guidance Office or by emailing scholarships@burlington.org.

The scholarships will be awarded at the Burlington High School Annual Scholarship Award Night.

All high school seniors residing in Burlington are eligible for the scholarship, whether they attend BHS, a private school or vocational school.

According to scholarship fund organizers, qualified applicants must be attending a college, university or technical school accredited by its state Board of Education.

The TOBSF Committee will choose the recipients of the scholarships. The committee members are: Kent Moffatt, Shelia Fitzpatrick, Jane Lynch, Christine Kim, Kendra Lamoretti, Debra Murphy and Joseph Attubato.

The Select Board said the TOBSF is built up with donations that residents make when they are paying their tax bills.

The board has not revealed how many scholarships will be handed out or how much money will be available this year.

"The Select Board thanks each and every Burlington resident who voluntarily contributes to the TOBSF. Your generous donations make this scholarships possible," the Select Board said in a statement.

Completed applications can be emailed to Joseph Attubato, BHS guidance counselor, at attubato@bpsk12.org or sent to the Burlington High School Guidance Department at 123 Cambridge St., Burlington, MA, 01803.
