Burlington Trash Pickup Delayed On Thursday
Thursday is trash day in Burlington, but it's also a snow day. Here's what you need to know.

BURLINGTON, MA -- The town's Department of Public Works is asking residents to not bring trash barrels out until after 7 am Thursday. The department also said trash pickup will be delayed by one hour as crews work to clear snow from a storm expected to dump 4-8 inches of heavy, wet snow on the town.
No decision had been made on whether or not schools would be closed in Burlington as of 1:45 pm on Wednesday. But Bay Path Community University had canceled afternoon and evening classes at its Burlington campus and Heritage Park Baptist Church had canceled Wednesday evening services.
Also on Wednesday night, the planning board meeting had been canceled, but the town's Website said the Ways & Means Committee meeting scheduled for 7 pm was still on. The planning board meeting was rescheduled to March 21 at 6 pm in the School Committee Hearing Room at the High School.

The town does not typically declare snow emergencies, as it bans on-street parking between the hours of midnight and 6 am between November 1 and April 1 and at any time when snow or icy conditions are present to make sure it can clear snow from roadways. Vehicles that violate the winter parking ban will be ticketed and towed by the Police Department at the owner's expense.
Burlington begins plowing when snow reaches a depth of 2-3 inches. More information, including an online form to report damage caused by plows to private property, is located onthe town's Website.
