BURLINGTON, MA —Thunderstorms rolling across the state have prompted a severe thunderstorm warning from the National Weather Service for Burlington and surrounding areas. The warning will remain in effect until 4:30 p.m. Forecasters have said the line of storms could bring winds up to 60 miles-per-hour while dropping quarter-sized hail on area communities. The National Weather Service's warning took effect at 3:25 p.m., stretching from areas around Acton east toward Burlington. The National Weather Service has advised anyone in the path of the storm to seek shelter until the warning expires. The National Weather Service has issued a series of other special weather statements and warnings as high heat and humidity combine to produce stormy conditions across the state.
