BOSTON, MA — Burlington's Kali Flanagan, who plays professional hockey for the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), has been named a PHF All-Star.

Flanagan, a blueliner, was named to the U.S. team for the All-Star series that will feature three teams: U.S., Canada, and a squad of international players.

On Jan. 29, the three teams will play a mini round-robin competition and championship at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto. The competition will begin at 7 p.m. and be carried on ESPN2.

Flanagan, who played for the gold medal-winning Team USA in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, is in her first full season with the Pride.

The former Boston College Eagle was a first-round draft choice of the Pride in 2018. But she only joined the team as a free agent in December of 2021.

Flanagan went on to record four assists in 14 regular-season games last season. Then, she had five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in three Isobel Cup "Izzy" Playoff games as the Pride captured the title for a second straight year.

Casey Bryant of the website TheIceGraden.com said Flanagan's coast-to-coast goal in the semifinal against the Toronto Six "should be getting more acclaim as one of the most impressive goals of the season considering the circumstances."

Flanagan, 27, signed a two-year deal with the Pride in July and said she was excited to be back with the team

"I couldn’t be happier to be back with the Boston Pride," Flanagan said according to the team's website. "Boston is my home and I'm so excited to continue to represent this amazing city alongside my teammates. I can't wait for the season to start so we can defend Izzy and make another championship run. Let's do this Boston!"

So far this season, the Pride are 11-2-0, 30 points, and in first-place in the seven-team league. In 12 games, Flanagan has 9 points (2 goals, 7 assists).

Before playing at Boston College, Flanagan was a two-time captain of the National Sports Academy's girls hockey team.
