Child Offered Candy and Ride Home from Suspicious Male, Woman Arrested for Shoplifting

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, November 5-
- At 1:29 a.m. a taxi driver on Bedford Street reported a customer did not pay fare. Driver provided with customer contact information who agreed to make the payment on the following day.
- At 2:46 a.m. an officer reported finding a young female walking around the Citgo station on Bedford Street without shoes. The girl appeared to be about 13 years old. Same was transported to Bedford Police Department.
- At 1 p.m. a caller at Lord Baron Apartments reported malicious damage to his motor vehicle after an altercation. Caller advised on process of filing a civil complaint.
- At 2:59 p.m. a Pine Avenue caller reported that a suspicious white male approached her son after he got off the school bus. The boy, who is in the 7th grade, told police that a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, with a mustache and driving a white SUV, asked him if he wanted candy and a ride home. The youth ran home and reported the incident to his mother.
- At 3:14 p.m. a Mill Street caller reported the rear window of his motor vehicle was damaged while parked in his driveway.
- At 4:08 p.m. police arrested Becky Nadeau, 25, of 22 Smith Avenue, Apartment 1, Lowell, on a charge of larceny over $250. Arrest made after a manager at Building 19 reported a female shoplifter was being combative.
- At 7:08 p.m. a caller reported their vehicle was struck in a hit and run accident at the Burlington Mall. Damage done to right rear of the vehicle.
- At 7:36 p.m. a South Bedford Street caller reported his car window was shot out by a BB.
- At 11:27 a.m. a caller at b.Good reported a male party acting suspicious in the bathroom. The man was advised to stay off the property.
- At 12:54 p.m. a caller at Hallmark Gardens reported her cell phone was stolen.
- At 1:06 p.m. a caller at Fox Hill Elementary reported the front passenger window of her vehicle was smashed out.
- At 1:35 p.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident at Lahey Clinic.
- At 3:02 p.m. a caller at Elements Therapeutic Massage reported that someone stole a laptop, wallet and cash sometime between 12:30 and 1 p.m.
- At 3:16 p.m. a Sandy Brook Road caller reported two large televisions were left on his front lawn.
- At 4:36 p.m. an Arboretum Way caller reported his ex-girlfriend had taken some of his property a year ago and was now selling his guitar on the internet. The woman dropped off the guitar and a laptop at the station for the caller to pick up.
- At 4:58 p.m. police arrested Dawn Cote, 48, of 40 Leander Street, Apartment 211, Providence, RI, on a charge of shoplifting $100+ by concealing merchandise and three warrants from other agencies. Arrest made after a Victoria's Secret employee reported detaining a female shoplifter.
- At 5:25 p.m. police issued a summons to a Dracut woman on a charge of malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
