National Grid Resolves Gas Leak In Burlington Neighborhood

The Burlington Fire Department said a contractor struck a gas line Thursday morning, triggering the leak.

BURLINGTON, MA — National Grid crews resolved a gas leak in Burlington on Thursday that had drawn emergency crews to a site on Sunnyside Avenue before 9 a.m., according to the Burlington Fire Department.

Initially reporting the leak on Sunnyfield Avenue, fire personnel shared an update around 11 a.m., saying the leak had actually taken place on nearby Sunnyside Avenue.

Emergency crews were on scene in the neighborhood around 8:50 a.m. Thursday morning after a contractor struck a gas line, the fire department said.

The Burlington Fire Department said its crews were standing by at the impacted residence while National Grid personnel respond to the scene.

National Grid had resolved the situation as of 11 a.m., according to the fire department.
