Contrast Therapy Studio Opens Burlington Mall Location

BURLINGTON, MA — A contrast therapy recovery studio, dubbed SweatHouz, is opening in the Village at Burlington Mall.

Operations Manager Jamie Cook, a Burlington native and Burlington High School graduate, returned to her hometown after moving away to work in boutique fitness and theater.

SweatHouz at the Burlington Mall offers "a private recovery studio equipped with an infrared sauna, vitamin c shower, cold plunge, and all the amenities you could need to recover both mentally and physically," Cook said.

Cook said that contrast therapy uses the combination of infrared saunas and cold plunge to aid in the mental and physical recovery of the body.

"Your body will always want to regain neutrality," Cook said. "So by exposing it to recurring heat and cold, your body works hard to realign itself which leads to some incredible health benefits. It has been proven to give your immune system a boost, improve cardiovascular health, get you better sleep, muscle recovery, and pure relaxation."

Cook has been in the health and fitness world for a long time and through that experience learned the importance of recovery.

At SweatHouz, clients "enjoy up to 60 minutes of rejuvenation in a private suite."

Cook said the private saunas differ from others at public locations as "you can use the amenities in any order, for any combination of time, to best suit your needs."

Franchise owner Nico Varano, also a Massachusetts native, chose Burlington in part because it is a major hub outside of Boston. The location also has great visibility and foot traffic, and is in "a strong community of like-minded people that fit the SweatHouz demographic."

Cook praised the Village at Burlington Mall location as well.

"This location in The Village at The Burlington Mall couldn’t be more perfect for us. Simon Mall has done a great job revitalizing The Village and we’re so fortunate to be a part of that community."
