CVS Checking ID for Nail Polish Remover and Other Things to Know Today

Five things to know today.

Today is Thursday, August 15. Here are five things to know:

1) Sunny skies

Looks like another nice day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect sunny skies with a high near 78 degrees. West wind between 6 and 10 miles per hour. Mostly clear tonight and kind of cool with a low around 54.

2) Buying nail polish remover? Get your ID ready

CVS Pharmacies are now requiring identification and people must be at least 18 years old to purchase nail polish remover, FoxNew.com reported. The store stated the reason in a press release:

“Because acetone is an ingredient used in the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, we recently implemented a policy that a valid ID must be presented to purchase acetone-containing products such as nail polish remover.  Our policy also limits the sale of these products in conjunction with other methamphetamine precursors and is based on various regulations requiring retailers to record sales of acetone.”

3) Play bridge

The Burlington Public Library is holding its weekly bridge group from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight. It's free to play and everyone is welcome.
