Home Sales Drop, Prices Increase In Burlington

Single-family home sales decreased while prices rose in Burlington in 2023, according to a study.

BURLINGTON, MA — Home sales in Burlington were down last year while prices increased, reflecting conditions across the state, according to a study from The Warren Group.

In 2023, sales in Burlington were down 12.7 percent. In 2022, 212 single-family homes were sold, but in 2023, only 185 homes were sold.

The median sale price of a single-family home increased by 8.1 percent, from $717,000 to $775,000, according to the Warren Group. This was also in line with the trend across the state as prices increased last year.

Across Massachusetts, single-family homes dropped to a 12-year low in 2023. Limited inventory combined with high prices and high interest rates all combined to make a tough real estate market for buyers.
