Five things to know today.

Today is Tuesday, August 20. Here are five things to know:

1) Sunny skies

Looks like a nice day today. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 88 degrees. Mostly clear tonight and comfortable with a low around 64.
2) School Committee

The School Committee is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the meeting room at Burlington High School. Included on the agenda is a discussion of the upcoming Town Meeting warrant and a second reading of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey Summary & Recommendations.

3) I scream, you scream, we all scream for...

The Burlington Public Library will be holding an Ice Cream Social today from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Various flavors and toppings will be available. This is a drop-in event so come down to the library and bring your appetite.

4) Japanese Animation

The library is also holding an anime movie night from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will watch different anime clips and eat some popcorn. For students entering grades 6-12.

5) Cheer for Dana Farber

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is looking for local cheerleaders of all ages and levels to participate in Cheer for Dana-Farber. Cheerleading teams can fundraise in their local communities through initiatives such as car washes, bake sales, and canister collections.
