Lahey Hospital Funds $1 Million In Grants To Area Organizations

Three area organizations were awarded $1 million in funding to address a variety of health issues.

BURLINGTON, MA — Lahey Hospital & Medical Center has awarded nearly $1 million in grants to three area organizations to support housing programs and mental health and substance use services throughout the region.

The funding "seeks to empower local nonprofit organizations to address key areas of need and to support the health care priorities of the communities they serve," according to a statement from the hospital.

“These grants provide community organizations with critical resources to further develop and implement programs and services that bolster the health and well-being of their local residents,” Susan Moffatt-Bruce, president of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, said in a statement. “We are proud to support these organizations and the important work they are doing in their communities.”

The grant recipients include Community Teamwork Inc. of Lowell, YMCA of Metro North/Torigian Family YMCA of Peabody, and the Greater Lowell Health Alliance.

The organizations focus on areas such as providing job readiness training, addressing mental and behavioral health concerns for children and teens, and addressing health inequities.

The grants will be provided over three years.
