Lend a Hand - Community Support Group Meeting Today

Five things to know today.

Today is Tuesday, July 30. Here are five things to know:

1) Sunny today and cool(ish) tonight

Looks like a nice day today and a comfortable night for sleeping. The National Weather Service is predicting sunny skies with a high near 84 degrees. Mostly clear tonight with a low around 59.

2) Word Game fun

The Burlington Public Library is holding a Summer Scrabble Club session for children in grades 4-8 at 3:30 p.m. Practice your Scrabble skills and learn new strategies. No registration required.

3) Lend a helping hand

The community group "Help Me Help Someone" (HELPIS) is meeting at 6:30 p.m. this evening in the Burlington Public Library. According to the group "This organization will bring people in our community together to reach out and help those in need. Through simple act of kindness and generosity we will heal, uplift, inspire, and improve the lives of others."

4) Post your events to Burlington Patch

Have an upcoming yard sale, fundraiser or other event? Post it to Burlington Patch and share it with the community. It could also end up in our daily "Five Things to Know Today" column. Click here to see our calendar and add your event
