Man Facing Charges After Car Crashes Into Burlington Bank: Police

A Texas man was charged after a car struck a bank early Thursday morning, damaging the building.

BURLINGTON, MA — A man is facing charges after he crashed his car into a bank building Thursday morning, according to police.

Burlington police and fire responded to 182 Cambridge St. on reports that a car had crashed into Santander Bank at 6:27 a.m.

Crews arrived and found that a car had crashed into the bank's lobby, damaging both the interior and exterior of the building. There was also damage to the outdoor area leading into the bank.

The driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The building inspector responded. The bank was expected to reopen for business Thursday.

The driver was not insured and was driving an unregistered car, police said. The man, who is from DeSoto, Texas, was charged with marked lanes violation, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, attaching plates, and speeding.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
