Monday Essentials: Bow Hunting Discussion and Puppies Up for Adoption

A look at the week ahead.

Welcome to our new post "Monday Essentials" where we bring you five things to know about the week ahead. Here is what's coming up in Burlington:

1) End of the heat

Last week's heat wave is finally over. This week we can expect more comfortable temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. Most days this week will have a high temperature near 79 or 80 degrees. There is also a chance of rain and thunderstorms from tonight through Wednesday.

2)  Bow hunting

Bow hunting for deer in the Landlocked Forest has been approved by the Board of Selectmen but the details on the rules have yet to be ironed out. Join the discussion this Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex basement meeting room when the Board of Selectmen subcommittee on the subject, led by Selectman Daniel Grattan, meets to continue the dialogue.

3) Puppies up for adoption

Abby Kennels has two German Shepherd puppies up for adoption that will be ready for new homes in August. Click here for more information.

4) Live music

Head down to the Music Cafe at Mount Hope at 7:30 p.m. this Friday to hear some live music from artists Jonas Woods and Tom Conlon. $5 entry fee includes drinks and dessert. Click here for more info

5) In case you missed it...

Burlington resident Phil Sullivan recently attended Herb Chambers’ “Cars & Coffee” at the Herb Chambers Flagship Motorcars Lynnfield to show off his classic cars. One of the cars he brought was a 1965 Pontiac GTO. Click here to check it out
