Purple Light Nights in October for Burlington

Spreading Hope

The Domestic Violence Awareness Purple tree will be lit up this evening at dusk.

We as a community are supported once again, in our 12th Annual Tree lighting. This tree is located in front of the Burlington Police Station. We are so very fortunate to have such a supportive Police Department. This tree will be lit up every night throughout the month of October. The Burlington Police Department and Chief Browne are so very kind to allow us to light up their tree on the front lawn. Please notice other organizations around town will also be supporting DV Awareness month. There is support in our community and these lights are a reminder of hope, to those surviving and you are not alone. We remember those lives lost, we are supporting survivors and bringing hope to those that are still living with abuse. When we come out of the shadows and speak up together...we gain strength. If you would like to be part of this initiative as a supportive community member, simply add a purple light in your window, porch or a purple ribbon on a tree. These are signs for those suffering who are gaining strength to use their voice. You will see the posters around the common of October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
There are so many services in our community and please reach out! Please contact me at wmlrock@gmail.com if you have any questions or need resources. We stand together and do not tolerate Domestic Violence! Love should NEVER hurt and there are so many resources to help and support you.
