BURLINGTON, MA — A popular gourmet doughnut maker has announced that its pop-up shop is returning to Burlington Mall in late January and early February.

Rocco's Doughnut Company, which has locations in Millbury, Worcester and Westborough, will be selling its giant, gourmet donuts in front of Common Craft, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until the doughnuts are sold out, on Jan. 28, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11.

Common Craft is a restaurant, bar, retailer and event space located in the new open-air lifestyle center of Burlington Mall, 75 Middlesex Turnpike.

"We will be popping up with our doughnuts outside. So come in, grab a beer, some food, and try our delicious doughnuts. You can either eat there or take home," Rocco's said in a statement.

Rocco's, which operates other pop-up shops in Everett and Salem, New Hampshire, has a menu with doughnut flavors like fruity pebbles, maple bacon, strawberry shortcake and apple strudel. Rocco's has not said what flavors will be available at Burlington Mall.

According to Rocco's, the company launched in 2018 in the greater Worcester area. Joe Astrella and his daughter Kerri started the company in honor of Joe's late father Rocco, who used to manage a Dunkin' Donuts.

"We are a specialty doughnut bakery creating some of the tastiest and best-looking doughnuts around," Rocco's said in a statement. "Our brand has caught both local and national attention and is something that we work very hard to continue to build upon."

The company continued: "Doughnuts can be shared among friends, family, and let's be real, even enemies. You bring a box of these doughnuts somewhere and you are instantly the coolest and most liked person in the room."

Common Craft, meanwhile, first opened this past summer and features two taprooms, a speakeasy, and a wine bar and scratch kitchen.

The company recently welcomed Framingham-based Exhibit 'A' Brewing Company for a "residency," which essentially means Common Craft has started to sell several Exhibit 'A' products on tap and in its bottle shop.

Exhibit 'A' has joined producers like Idle Hands Craft Ales, Deacon Giles Distillery, and Elevage Wine Room, which have similar arrangements with Common Craft.
