Police said a woman ended up outside of the first vehicle after this crash. While initial reports suggested that she was thrown from the vehicle, police said “the possibility exists” that she fell out of an open driver’s side door, was helped to safety by someone on scene, or briefly walked before collapsing on a nearby sidewalk.

The crash remained under investigation as of Tuesday afternoon, with local police working alongside the Massachusetts State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
