
Today is Thursday, July 25. Here are five things to know:
1) Cloudy skies
Looks like a gray day is in store for us today but it will be a bit cooler. The National Weather Service is saying we can expect mostly cloudy skies with a high near 74 degrees.
2) Special Olympics Softball Tournament
Burlington Pride will be hosting a Special Olympic softball tournament on Saturday, July 27 beginning at 9 a.m. The games will be held on the fields behind the Burlington Recreation building at 61 Center St. Burlington. There will be six teams this year. Teams will be: 2 Burlington Pride teams, Natick, Melrose, Milford and SNARC. The tournament is sponsored by Burlington Recreation and Burlington Rotary. Come down and cheer on the athletes!
3) Teen movie
The Burlington Police Department will be showing "Despicable Me" in celebration of the upcoming release of the sequel. The movie event is for students in grades 6-12 and the film will start rolling at 2:30 p.m. Popcorn will be provided.
4) Cheers!
Want to learn how to make a great and memorable speech? The Burlington Public Library is holding a Last Word Toastmasters meeting at 6:30 p.m. this evening. Toastmasters is an international organization dedicated to helping members improve their communication and leadership skills. The Last word Toastmasters Club invite you to our fun-filled, stress-free, supportive group. Walk-ins alway welcomed.
5) A Summer treat
