Warning: That $200 Wegmans Coupon is a Fake

If that $200 off coupon for Wegmans seems too good to be true, it's because it is. It's a scam.

BURLINGTON, MA - Wegmans is warning customers: that coupon offering $200 off groceries at its store is a fake.

A coupon circulating on Facebook that offers the big deal is a “false claim,” Wegmans posted on its page.

“This giveaway is neither affiliated with nor supported by Wegmans,” the company wrote. “We’re actively working to have this fraudulent post removed from Facebook.”

The embedded links in the post pointed to a URL not associated with Wegmans, reports Snopes, and users who ”attempted to complete the steps and claim the coupon were directed to a page titled ’Wegmans is Giving-away Free $200 Grocery Coupon (limited time offer).’”

Wegmans urges customers not to click the link share it, or provide any personal information.

Wegmans has four locations in Massachusetts, including one in Burlington.
