Reason for running: I run because I can! I run for those who would give anything to have this simple gift I take for granted. I run harder knowing they would do the same for me. I run to raise awareness and money for cancer research. Running 26.2 miles and crossing that finish line every year is even more meaningful knowing that I am making a difference and helping raise vital funds for cancer research. I run this year in honor of my loving nephew Tommy who passed away of an inoperable brain tumor in October 2013. This one is for you, Tommy!

Training tips: Always allow at least ONE day off a week to rest/recover. Two days a week is OK, too. Heck, I sometimes take 4-5 days off and I still manage to finish (haha) !! When your legs give out and you want to give up, run with your HEART!
