Four Boston Police officers were honored for overcoming significant adversities at the semi-annual Theodore Roosevelt Association awards ceremony on Friday.
The awards, which were handed out at the historic Faneuil Hall, were given to sworn members of the department who have overcome a significant injury, illness or handicap.
This year, the Association honored four members of the department who have faced adversity and challenges in their lives with strength and bravery.

Awards were presented to Sergeant Detective Richard Clancy, Sergeant Detective Mary-Ann Riva, Sergeant Robert Twitchell and Detective Frederick Waggett.
