Charlestown Man Arrested Following Drug Bust in Norwood
Police recovered heroin, cocaine and cash after arresting three men during a drug raid in Norwood last week.

A Charlestown man was one of three individuals arrested Thursday after police executed a search warrant at the home of an alleged drug dealer in Norwood. Heroin, cocaine, and cash was recovered from the home on Cottage Street, according to police officials.
The warrant was issued following a lengthy investigation into illegal drug sales at the home by the resident, who police identified as 44-year-old Christopher Burr.
Upon arriving at the home, Detectives observed a tan Jeep occupied by two Hispanic males drive to the rear of the home where they met Burr. Burr allegedly gave one of the Hispanic men cash, and in exchange he received heroin and cocaine. He then went back into the home as the operator of the Jeep began to back out, police said.

Simultaneously, outside of the home, one passenger in the Jeep was placed under arrest while the second one actively resisted arrest. As Detectives struggled to handcuff the individual, who they identified as Luis Angel Ferrer Ruiz, 31, of Dorchester, they observed him swallow numerous plastic bags of cocaine and heroin. Due to the fact that the suspect swallowed drug evidence, detectives obtained a subsequent warrant and recovered the evidence.
According to police, Ferrer-Ruiz was subdued and placed under arrest for distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine, and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Additionally, Ruiz was charged with resisting arrest following the lengthy struggle that ensued with police.
The operator of the Jeep, Victor Barnody Arias-Mejia, 31, of Charlestown, was placed under arrest for the distribution of a Class A substance, distribution of a Class B substance, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
A total of $952.00 in drug profits, cocaine and heroin were seized from the home.
