Boston Harbor Hotel's Summer in the City Series Opens Tonight
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on June 13 in Charlestown.

1. Chance of rain: Today will be partly sunny with a chance of rain, mainly after 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Rain is likely in the evening, mainly after 3 a.m. High: 67, Low: 52.
2. Mayor’s Night: CANCELED DUE TO RAIN! The next Mayor of Charlestown was set to be named tonight during the community’s annual pre-Bunker Hill Day celebration at Eden Street Park from 7-9 p.m., but the Bunker Hill Associates have canceled the event because of expected rain. Details about the announcement of this year's "Mayor of Charlestown" will be posted on Patch once information is available.

3. Summer in the City: The Boston Harbor Hotel (70 Rowes Wharf) is once again offering its Summer in the City Entertainment Series, beginning Thursday, June 13 and running through Friday, Aug. 30. With each night sporting a different theme from Summer Soul Tuesdays and Blues Barge Thursdays to Movies by Moonlight Fridays and more, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Check out the full schedule at bhh.com/special_summer.htm. All events are free and open to the public, with public dining available outside at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille.
4. Rose Garden Party: The annual Rose Garden Party, a fundraiser for the Boston Parks Department, will be held tonight from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Kelleher Rose Garden (73 Park Drive). The event will feature food and refreshments, musical entertainment, a silent auction, live art demonstration and hat contest. Tickets cost $125 each and are available online or by calling 617-635-4032. Tickets are tax deductible.

5. Salute to the Sea Services: The USS Constitution Museum in the Charlestown Navy Yard (2 Constitution Center) will host a “Salute to the Sea Services” gala and awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 26 from 6-8 p.m. It is an evening to honor the individuals who have chosen to serve and to support America’s maritime heritage.
