Pressley Takes Top Slot in Boston City Council At-Large Race

The final 8: Pressley, Flaherty, Murphy, Wu, Keogh, Ross, Essaibi-George, and Kelly.

Incumbent At-Large Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley topped the ticket in the at-large City Council race followed by former City Councilor Michael Flaherty in Boston's preliminary election.

Pressley received 42,875 votes, about 16.7% of total ballots cast, while Flaherty, who ran for city council two years ago and mayor four years ago, finished with 39,871 votes or 15% of ballots.

Next up was sitting Boston City Council President Stephen Murphy who received 31,701 votes or 12.35% of ballots, followed by Michelle Wu with 29359 votes on 11.44% of ballots.

All totals were unofficial, according to Boston's Elections Department

The next four were Martin Keogh with 15,734 votes or 6.13%, Jeffrey Michael Ross with 13,929 votes or 5.43%, then Anissa Essaibi-George with 12,236 votes or 4.77%, and Jack Kelly III finished 8th with 11,900 votes or 4.64% of the vote.

Finishing 9th was Catherine O'Neill with 10,942 votes or 4.26%, then Althea Garrison with 10,256 votes or 4.00%, then Ramon Soto with 9,919 votes or 3.87%, then Philip Frattaroli with 5,828 votes or 2.27%.

Gareth Saunders finished with 5,356 votes or 2.09%, then Christopher Conroy with 3,430 votes or 1.34%, then Seamus Whelan with 3,117 votes or 1.21%, then Francisco White with 2,745 votes or 1.07%. Douglas Wohn had 2,379 votes or 0.93%, then Frank Addivinola Jr. with 2,239 votes or 0.87%, then Keith Kenyon with 1,949 votes or 0.76%.

There were 853 write-in votes.
