Boy Scout to Create, Install Solar-Powered Irrigation System
Tyler Fleming hopes to raise $1,000 for his project, which would be installed in the Walter F. Lewis Community Gardens.

CHELMSFORD, MA - An aspiring eagle scout is raising money to design and install a computer-controlled, solar-powered pumping system into the Walter F. Lewis Community Gardens.
Tyler Fleming, of Chelmsford's Boy Scout troop 77, is using the crowd-sourcing website GoFundMe.com to raise $1,000 for the project.
The community project would earn Tyler the title of Eagle Scout.

Tyler's plans include a solar panel and power controller. The tech-savvy boy scout also plans to design and implement an Arduino-based pump controller that would shut off when well runs dry.
In the later stages of the project Tyler will create an irrigation system that will control the flow of water into holding tanks in various sections of the gardens.
