Chelmsford and Statewide Home Sales Higher in January
According to the Warren Group, January 2013 was the strongest for Massachusetts ssince 2007.

Massachusetts saw 2,680 home sales in January according to the Warren Group, a figure that presented a jump that was also echoed in Chelmsford during the first month of the year.
"We ended 2012 on a pretty positive note, and this is carrying into January," said Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group. "Recent pending sales data are a hopeful sign for a strong spring market. And given low mortgage rates and steady prices, there are positive signs that 2013 will be a second year of recovery."

According to the Warren Group's figures, Chelmsford saw 17 home sales in January 2013 compared to 15 during January 2012.
However, condo sales dropped from 7 in January 2012 to only 4 in January 2013.

Statewide, the median sale price rose 6.8 percent in January to $277,750, up from $260,000 in January 2012. This is the highest median home price for January in three years.
In Chelmsford, the median home sale price in January was $301,000, up from $299,900 in January 2012.
