Chelmsford Board Of Selectmen Gets New Name
The name change was enacted last week by Gov. Charlie Baker.

CHELMSFORD, MA — The Chelmsford Board of Selectmen will henceforth be called the Select Board.
In a news release Thursday, the board announced the name change was made official on Aug. 25 when Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker signed into law Chapter 164 of the Acts of 2020.
The law officially changes the Chelmsford Town Charter to include the new name.

Renaming the select board has been in the works since it was approved in the 2019 Fall Annual Town Meeting, the release said.
