Chelmsford Cancels School Ahead Of Snow Storm
As the National Weather Service updated its snow totals for the region, Chelmsford declared a parking ban, too.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Thursday will be a traditional "snow day" students in Chelmsford.
"I was preparing to call our first remote school day tomorrow, however with the projected significant snow fall accumulations and forecast for the greater Merrimack Valley calling for gusty winds overnight and throughout the day, electricity will likely be impacted," Superintendent Jay Lang wrote in an email to families. "We not only have to consider our Chelmsford residents, but also our staff who may be working remotely in surrounding communities this winter when making power related decisions. Therefore, I have decided to cancel school all together tomorrow."
Earlier Wednesday Town officials declared a parking ban ahead of a major winter storm that is set to blanket the entire state.

Snow is expected to start falling in Chelmsford sometime after 8 p.m. Wednesday. And according to the National Weather Service updated snow totals for the region before the storm is over on Thursday residents can expect between 6 and 15 inches of snow.
Chelmsford Highway Superintendent Wednesday declared a parking ban in anticipation of the storm.

Parking ban begins in Chelmsford at 10 p.m. Wednesday and will be in effect through 10 p.m. Thursday.
All vehicles must be removed from the roadways during these hours to assist with plow operations. Any vehicles parked on the roads during this time are subject to towing at owners expense.
The town also announced that trash and recycling will be delayed a day.
