Chelmsford Man Accused Of Hitting 2-Year-Old Autistic Son

The Lowell Sun reports that 48-year-old Chelmsford man has pleaded not guilty to a charge that he gave his 2-year-old autistic son two black eyes after his son hit him.
A request to place $500 bail on the man, David Maxon of 7 Poplar Lane, was denied, with Judge Thomas Brennan releasing Maxon on person recongizance along with a warning for Maxon to stay away from the alleged victim and abide by an existing restraining order.

Maxon denied the charges, blaming that the alleged injuries stemmed from the child's pet allergies, which were inflamed when he went to see grandparents in Bedford.
The case will resume on July 9 for a pretrial conference.
