Chelmsford Police Welcome Four New Officers

Four new officers graduated from the academy last week.

Police Chief James Spinney would like to welcome four new members to the Chelmsford Police Department who graduated from the academy last week.

Officers Matthew Fernald, Aidan Gillis, Keith Lecyznski and Ashley Rokas completed the Methuen Police Academy, held at Northern Essex Community College, on June 26.

The four finished 21 weeks of training and will begin in Chelmsford the first week of July.

Officer Fernald received the academy’s award for highest academic achievement and Officer Lecyznski received the academy’s award for the top physical fitness performance.

“I would like to personally commend these officers for completing the program, and I congratulate Officer Fernald and Officer Lecyznski on their awards,” Chief Spinney said. “We are excited to expand the department and increase safety in town.”
