Chelmsford Runner Earns Honors at UMass Lowell

Chelmsford resident and UMass Lowell student Scott Boiko was named to the Capital One Division II All-America Third Team for Track and Field earlier this week.

A biology major, Boiko has maintained a 3.38 cumulative grade point average, above the 3.30 needed to qualify for the honors.

Boiko was also named to the Capital One District 1 Academic Team this season, as well as the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team.

On the track, this season Boiko helped the River Hawks place fifth in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship in the distance medley relay and first in the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Championship in the 4x800 meter relay.

Boiko also set a school record in the 4x800 meter relay at the Northeast-10 Outdoor Championship, where the Riverhawks finished second.
