Chelmsford Schools Among Best in State, Nation: New Rankings

Niche.com has released its 2016 rankings of top schools and districts across the country. Where did Chelmsford rank?

Chelmsford Public Schools and its individual schools routinely make the various ”best of” lists when it comes to ranking schools, and this recent list is no different.

According to Niche.com, Chelmsford High School is the 74th best public high school in Massachusetts and the 1,591st best public high school nationally among a pool of more than 23,000 schools.

When it comes to the town’s elementary schools, Harrington came in at 216th in the state, Center Elementary at 227th, Byam at 241st, and South Row at 246th. The top five elementary schools in the state are in Lexington, according to the rankings.

In terms of overall district rankings, Chelmsford Public Schools came in at No. 62. Lexington Public Schools claimed the top spot in the district rankings in the state.

To calculate the rankings, Niche.com considered “statistics, student and parent reviews and expert insights. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, student and parent reviews, and more.”
