Chelmsford Students Earn John and Abigail Adams Scholarships

The scholarship provides free in-state tuition at state colleges and universities.

Eleven Chelmsford seniors at Nashoba Valley Technical High School have earned scholarships for free undergraduate tuition to state colleges and universities.

The students include Chloe Adler-Mandile, Dennis Baker, Jacob Ballerini, Christopher Cassidy, Camron Clark, Brendan Conley, Devin Hussey, James Morrison, Amanda Rogers, Michael Soave and Justin Uzzell.

The John & Abigail Adams scholarship is offered to students who score in the advanced category in either the Mathematics or English Language Arts section of the 10th-grade MCAS test, and in the Proficient or Advanced category in the other section. Additionally, qualifying students must have a combined MCAS score on those two assessments that ranks in the top 25 percent of their school district; be a permanent Massachusetts resident; be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen; enroll in a postsecondary institution full time in the first traditional academic semester after high-school graduation; and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

Forty-two Nashoba Tech seniors, the maximum number, qualified for the scholarship, according to a press release.
