CHS Student Wins National Merit $2,500 Scholarship

CHELMSFORD, MA - Evan G. Sayer, of Chelmsford High School, was one of approximately 1,000 students nationwide to receive a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship. His probable career field is undecided.

National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners are the Finalists in each state judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Finalists are judged on academic record, scores on the PSAT/NMSQT, contributions and leadership in school and community activities, a written essay and a recommendation written by a high school official.

By the conclusion of the 2016 program, about 7,500 Finalists will have earned the “Merit Scholar” title and received a total of about $33 million in college scholarships.
