Grant enables volunteers to build more ramps for people in wheelchairs

All Saints' Episcopal Church and Central Congregational Church are pleased to announce a $10,000 grant has been received from the Greater Lowell Community Foundation through its 2025 Discretionary Grants Program for the Ramps for Neighbors program.
This grant supports Ramps for Neighbors, a volunteer program to build ramps for people who have become wheelchair bound. An accident or illness which leaves a person confined to a wheelchair is a major problem for the whole family. Most homes are inaccessible to wheelchairs and without a ramp a person is not only cut off from essential trips, such as doctor visits, but also from their community and social life.
Skilled volunteers, working with the family, develop a plan for each ramp, get planning permission and design approval, and, in one day, build a ramp at each home. There is no cost to the recipient - all the work is done by volunteers and materials are purchased with funds from grants, donations, and fundraisers.

"The goal of this ministry is to restore people back to the fullness of their lives and communities. This grant will allow us to impact even more lives and enrich all our communities" said the Rev. Sean Maloney, Rector of All Saints' Church.
