Hundreds Without Power Across Chelmsford, Westford
More than 200,000 customers awoke to no power across the state.
CHELMSFORD, MA —Some 2,805 are without power in Chelmsford and another 1,636 are without power in Westford as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday. This comes as more than 223,000 were without power across the commonwealth earlier this morning following last night's storm. Boston's MBTA was navigating fallen trees on the tracks, and police were responding to several reports of intersections without working lights.
Westford was originally one of the least affected areas with only 100 customers reporting no power, while Chelsmford had some 500 without power at 7:30 a.m., according to Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. But that number went up by noon.
Police are warning of a number of trees and branches on power lines contributing to the outages.

Last night Eversource, the state's largest provider, said it was bracing for the storm, but has made no estimate on how long repairs might take this morning. By 11:30 a.m. Eversource said it had restored power to some 95,000 customers across the state.
High winds in excess of 90 miles per hour last night along the coast, creating a "Bomb Cyclone" made things worse for folks on the Cape and the Islands, according to the National Weather Service.
