Overturned Tanker Prompts Hazmat Response

An overturned tanker on Route 3 late Friday night forced the closing of multiple roads.

A fuel tanker rolled over on Route 3 late Friday night prompting a regional Hazmat team to response after fuel began to leak.

WCVB.com reports that the tanker, which was carrying 1,100 gallons of fuel according to state police, overturned near the Lowell Connector and began leaking its contents.

Authorities closed all roads within 1,000 feet from the crash site as a precaution. Those roads included Route 3 north at Route 129 and Route 3 south at Drum Hill Rotary.

WCVB reports that state police have stated the cause of the crash is still under investigation. There were no reported injuries from the incident.
