Registration Opens for 2.62 Mile 'Run for Bauman' Event in Chelmsford

The 2.62 mile run will take place on Saturday, July 12, to benefit Wiggle Your Toes.

This year's Run for Bauman event is scheduled for July, with proceeds from the 2.62 mile run to benefit an organization called Wiggle Your Toes.

Wiggles Your Toes is a non-profit that looks to empower people who have lost a limb, helping them take action and make strides to resuming the life they want, according to organizers for the Run for Bauman description.

Run for Bauman, scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at 9 a.m., is becoming an annual event in honor of Chelmsford resident Jeff Bauman, who lost both of his legs during the Boston Marathon bombings.

"Along with his tireless physical therapy hours and courage, Jeff has been working closely with (Wiggle Your Toes) to get him where he is today," event planners wrote on their website. "So as a way to say thank you, the Run for Bauman team looks forward to another stellar event this summer!"

The cost for the race is $25 in advance and $35 the day of. Parking will be available at Chelmsford High School.

Runners will begin at the high school, starting down Graniteville Road towards Westford. There will be a water stop along School Street and the course features several hills along the way.
