The Town of Chelmsford is Hiring

CHELMSFORD, MA - The Town of Chelmsford is hiring a full-time seasonal person to perform cemetery grounds maintenance.

The job begins April 4 and pays $16.41 per hour with a 37.5 hours per week schedule (Monday through Friday)

According to the job posting, the tasks required include:

1. Operation of the department’s equipment for grounds maintenance and improvement, and other related assignments.
2. Prepare and finish landscaping graves as required. Assists other co-workers as needed.
3. General grounds maintenance duties including but not limited to grass mowing and trimming, raking, shoveling, shrub trimming, tree pruning, sweeping, and painting.
4. Leaf removal operations as needed.
5. Prepare lots and setting up equipment for funeral services.
6. Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and flower gardens.
7. Maintain cemetery plumbing and irrigation systems.
8. Perform basic maintenance on department vehicles and equipment.
9. Install Veterans’ flat markers as required.

The employee must be at least 18 years old and a pre-employment physical and valid driver's license is required..
