Vacant Seats Loom as Date to Return Nomination Papers Nears

There could be at least 11 empty Chelmsford Town Meeting representative seats on the ballot unless folks return papers by Feb. 16.

CHELMSFORD, MA - Chelmsford residents who have pulled nomination papers to run for a Chelmsford Town Meeting representative seat are being strongly encouraged to get those papers turned in by the deadline.

As of Thursday evening, there were 11 town meeting representative seats for which no one had returned nomination papers.

The breakdown is as follows:

Precinct 2

  • Three seats for three-year terms
  • One seat for one-year term (to fill an unexpired term)

Precinct 3

Precinct 4

  • One seat for three-year term
  • One seat for one-year term (to fill an unexpired term)

The deadline to return papers and be included on the ballot is Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. The deadline has already passed to obtain nomination papers.
