Virtual Meeting Next Month About Chelmsford Bridge Replacements

On Aug. 10, MassDOT will be discussing the replacement of the Goram Street Bridge at I-495 and the Westford Street Bridge at I-495.

CHELMSFORD, MA —The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced it will be hosting a live virtual public meeting to offer details about two upcoming bridge-replacement projects in Chelmsford.

The bridges that will be replaced are the Goram Street Bridge over Interstate 495 and Westford Street Bridge over I-495. Details about the meeting will be available on the MassDOT website.

According to MassDOT, the proposed design for the Goram Street Bridge will include two travel lanes — one in each direction — shoulders/bike lanes with buffers and sidewalks on both sides.

Meanwhile, the proposed design for the Westford Street Bridge will have two lines —one in each direction —shoulders/bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides.

During construction, one-way traffic will be maintained on each bridge, with the opposite direction being detoured, according to MassDOT.

MassDOT said the virtual public meetings can be made accessible to people with disabilities or with limited English proficiency.
