Concord-Carlisle Well Represented on League of Women Voters New Board

The Massachusetts League of Women Voters recently announced its new elected board and directors, including three members with ties to the LWV of Concord-Carlisle.

 

At a recent League of Women Voters Massachusetts meeting in Peabody, the group elected three woman with local ties to one of its boards. 

Dee Ortner, from the League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle, is now on the Mass. League of Women Voters' board as a secretary, according to a recent League of Women Voters announcement.

Launa Zimmaro, also of the LWVCC, and Becky Shannon, formerly from Concord and now a member of the LWV Amherst, were elected as directors. 

They join a group of new elected board members and directors from all over the Commonwealth. Each of them has been elected to a two-year term lasting until May of 2015.

A little about Ortner, from a press release on the League of Women Voters MA website

Dee joins the board after serving on the finance committee and as a Membership and Leadership Development (MLD) coach. She is co-president for the Concord-Carlisle League.

And of Zimmaro:

Launa joins the board after being a member of the state program and action committee and one of its environmental specialists. She is a member of the Concord-Carlisle League.

And, of Shannon:

Becky served as secretary and co-president of the Concord-Carlisle League before moving this past year to western Massachusetts and joining the Amherst League. While she was co-president, the Concord-Carlisle League developed its Life In The Balance programs on waste, food and energy, and the Democracy In The Balance project.
