How You Can Join Us: Small Actions, Big Impact
Ways to support nature-based healing in your own community

By now, you’ve read about our programs in group homes, therapeutic schools, and memory care units. You’ve met our animals, volunteers, and staff. You’ve seen how small, intentional moments with nature can create real connection and healing.
But maybe you’re wondering: How can I be part of this?
The truth is, The Nature Connection has always been rooted in community. Our work depends not just on staff and funding—but on people like you. People who believe that everyone deserves access to nature. People who understand that connection, joy, and dignity should not be limited by mobility, memory, or circumstance.

Whether it’s helping care for our animals, prepping program materials, or supporting a visit to a local care site, volunteers are essential. We provide training, mentorship, and flexibility to meet your schedule. Even a few hours a month can make a real difference.
2. Make a Donation
Monthly gifts, one-time contributions, and sponsorships help us bring programs to under-resourced communities. Your support keeps our animals cared for, our materials ready, and our visits accessible to those who need them most.
3. Share Our Story
If a particular article in this series resonated with you, share it with a friend. Invite them to learn about The Nature Connection. Spread the word on social media. We are a small organization with a long legacy—and word of mouth is one of our most powerful tools.
4. Host or Sponsor a Program
Know a local school, group home, or elder care facility that could benefit from nature-based programming? We’d love to connect. Individuals and businesses can also sponsor a program visit for a site in need.
5. Visit Us
Come by our nature center in West Concord, MA. We’ll be open for Discover West Concord day on Oct. 18th 10:00 - 4:00. Meet our animals, explore our space, and see the work up close. There’s no better way to understand what we do than to experience it for yourself.
The needs are real. The work is gentle but vital. And the impact is lasting.
You don’t have to do everything—but if something in our mission speaks to you, we invite you to do something.
Because every connection we make—every smile, memory, or spark—begins with someone saying, “I want to help.”
