Is Trail's End Going Gastropub?

The British influence at Trail's End could grow even greater, as the cafe and corner store could become a bit of a gastropub if it can land the liquor license Concord's Board of Selectmen will consider tonight, Sept. 23. 

Here's how cafe owner Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore outlined the plans in an email to Patch: 

Trail's End Cafe's request for a full liquor license is part of its long range plan to increase its offerings to the Concord community. We have recently increased our seating capacity to 75 seats and will be enlarging our kitchen and renovating the former convenience store area along Lowell Road to incorporate it into the cafe. The convenience store/gas station will occupy a much smaller area. The cafe will open for dinner, and will serve comfort food made with carefully sourced ingredients.  

Along with seeking an all-alcohol license, expanding the cafe and extending hours for dinner are the main changes on tap now for Trail's End Cafe. However, the cafe operations could be impacted by the longer-term redevelopment plans Akehurst-Moore and her father, Jim White, have for Millbrook Tarry.
