Lost Concord Hiker Rescued By Police

The hiker thanked police while making light of her situation.

CONCORD, MA — A Concord hiker is thanking police for helping find her and her dog after she got lost on a trails on Friday.

The hiker, Charlene Sauliner, posted her appreciation on Facebook, detailing her travel mishap and how the police helped. Sauliner was hiking in the Nashoba Brook Conservation area on Friday when she and her dog got lost.

She was hiking the Bay Circuit trail's "one mile loop" when she lost her way. "Trodding along this 'One mile loop' which was after a while longer than that, a bit confusing....but still quite beautiful," Sauliner wrote.

Sauliner was not hurt and actually made the most of her time in the woods, taking in the natural scenery. "If you’re going to get lost in the woods, they might as well be beautiful — and kind police nearby who won’t laugh, but will ensure your safe passage (along with the very wet dog) back to your vehicle," Sauliner wrote.

Concord police reposted the thank you on its page and said, "Glad we could help."
